Booking your holiday accommodation direct with the owner has
many advantages including:
- No confusion by including a third party
- No extra costs by having to pay for a middleman
- Direct and quick responses to any queries
This short guide will show you how easy and convenient it is to
use this service.
STEP 1
Find the perfect
accommodation
Specify exactly what you need using the drop-down menus in the
search panel. You can search by location, type of accommodation,
number of bedrooms and price range.
STEP 2
Make a shortlist
As the search delivers matching properties, add those that you
consider as suitable to 'My Shortlist' by ticking the 'Add to my
shortlist box'. When you want to view your chosen few, simply click
on 'My Shortlist'. This list will be saved, even if you switch off
your computer. You can delete those that don't quite fit the bill
by ticking the relevant button.
TIP! Once you've narrowed down
your list, try to involve the whole family in making the final
choice. After all, for everyone the excitement of going on holiday
should start with the planning.
STEP 3
Send an enquiry
When you've all agreed on the perfect accommodation, send an
email direct to the owners. The email address of each owner can be
found in the top right hand corner of the search results page.
When you send your enquiry, be sure to include all your contact
details, required dates and number of people in your party.
TIP! You should get a reply
within 24 hours. If there has been no response after three days

STEP 4
Confirm the booking
Select the dates you require on the online property calendar and
click 'Confirm booking'. This will take you to a booking form,
which you'll need to complete.
Usually a deposit of between 10 and 50 per cent is required to
guarantee a reservation, payable by cheque or bank transfer.
The balance must then be paid approximately eight weeks prior to
the start of your holiday. In many cases, a small breakage deposit
is added to the final cost. Providing there was no damage done,
this is refunded at the end of your stay.
TIP! Always request a copy of
the terms and conditions from the owner, before you proceed with a
booking. This should preferably be in writing and sent by regular
mail.

The key arrangements vary from owner to owner. On payment of the
balance you will be informed of whether a key will be sent to you
or is to be picked up at the destination, along with any other
relevant information.
In case of any problems
Our site, like most other sites works on a degree of trust, and
we have not experienced problems with our holiday home owners
/advertisers. However, if in doubt, please feel free to ask for
references from the property owner, and ensure you have a full set
of contact details for them.
It is advisable to ensure that both renter and owner have each
other's phone numbers before the holiday begins in case any
unforeseen problems may arise. Additionally, a contact number for a
local representative is usually provided along with personal local
recommendations and 'insider information' at the villa or
apartment.
