New-build property prices in the UK have risen again according to figures released recently.

The average price of a new-build home is now just under £257,500, a rise of 0.7 percent since April.

Townhouses saw the biggest increase, 2.1 per cent since April, and now average £239,196.

Detached, or semi-detached, home prices rose by 0.4 per cent, while the value of apartments went up 0.2 per cent.

Wales saw the biggest regional rise, with the cost of a new home increasing by 9.1 per cent since April.

However, upwards is not the only direction prices are heading. In the south-west, the cost of new homes actually dropped by 2.4 per cent.
